 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha Coasts, India during next 36 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, scattered in Magway Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and widespread in Bago,Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Shanywarthit (3.00)inches, Mingaladon (2.40)inches, Manaung (2.28) inches, Loikaw (2.16)inches, Phyarpon and Kawthong (1.89)inches each, Northern Dagon (1.69)inches, Loilin and Yangon(Kaba-aye) (1.62)inches each, Myaungmya and Hainggyikyun (1.57)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
