SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin State, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Rakhine States and and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Dawei (6.89)inches, Launglone (5.55)inches, Kamamaung (5.22)inches, Chaungsone (5.20)inches, Kyeikkhame (4.33)inches, Mudon and Paung (4.17)inches each, Pathein (4.01)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.90)inches, Zalun (3.74)inches, Pyawbwe (3.54)inches, Gwa (3.46)inches, Okkan (3.15)inches, Pauk (2.91)inches, Singu (2.30)inches and Shwebo and Htilin (1.61)inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (North and East) State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 – 9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.
