BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area still persists over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh Coasts (India). It is forecast to further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, (Southern & Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 - 14) feet along Myanmar Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State.
