SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Northern and Southern)Shan and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan and Chin States, widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Southern Shan State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (3.67)inches, Mudon and Paung (3.27)inches each, Taunggyi (3.07)inches, Gwa (2.76)inches, Hainggyikyun (2.17)inches, Coco-Island (1.85)inches and Kunlong (1.73)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Kachin, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Chin and Kayah States, widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
