2-9-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely  to further intensify during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it  is likely  to move  west-northwestwards and cross Odisha, India, during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas will be experienced at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
