SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Chin and Mon States and widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, (Easthern and Southern) Shan, Rakhine, Kayah and Kayin States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hkamti (3.63)inches, Thayarwady (2.72)inches, Magway (2.67)inches, Minbu (2.59)inches, Hainggyikyun (2.40) inches, Kyaukpyu, Pathein and Kamamaung (1.96)inches each, Okpho (1.85)inches, Kungyangon (1.83) inches, North Dagon (1.57)inches and  Hinthada (1.49)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States and fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-8)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
