BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Northern Shan State and widespread in Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan(South and East), Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) to (40)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 11)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7) feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
