SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Mandalay and  Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Chin State and widespread in Lower Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady  and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyeikmayaw (4.09)inches, Launglone(3.35) inches, Hainggyigyun (3.23)inches, Dawei (2.99)inches,  Kawkayeit (2.83)inches, Mudon (2.40)inches, Matupe and Yeu (2.32) inches each, Hpa-an (2.28)inches and Shanywarthit (2.01)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th August, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-11)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
