27-10-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and still persists. It is centered at about 530 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 240 Nautical miles East of Chennai(India), 260 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm on 28-10-2025 and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night.Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kachin State, widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady  and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Rakhine and Mon States and  isolated heavy falls in Magway Region and Northern Shan State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukpyu (6.73)inches, Sintku (5.83)inches, Moekok (4.70)inches, Kunlong (4.61)inches, Ye U (3.94)inches, Thandwe (3.70)inches, Manaung (3.46) inches, Pinlaebu (3.43)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.31)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.15)inches, Shwebo (3.11)inches, Taungkok and Paung (2.95)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th August, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Kayah  States and widespread in Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan(East and South), Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with  rough seas will be experienced  at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-11)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
