SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Southern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with  regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paungbyin (15.00)inches, Hkamti (7.32)inches, Putao (2.87)inches, Hmawbi and Hpa-an (2.32)inches each, Ann (2.28)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.20)inches, Kyaukmayaw (2.04)inches, Taungkok (1.93)inches, Gwa and Chaungsone (1.89)inches each and Launglone (1.73)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, (Northern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan and Chin States, widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of increase of rain in Shan State.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 4th September, 2017: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainly is (100%).
