SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Tanintayi Regions, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Magway and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Chanugsone (7.48)inches, Kyeikkhame (6.06)inches, Paung (5.71)inches,Thaton (5.63)inches, Launglon (5.20) inches, Kyeikmayaw (5.04)inches, Dawei (4.72)inches, Kyaukphyu (4.65)inches, Mudon (4.57)inches, Gwa (4.49) inches, Belin (3.86)inches, Yay (3.71)inches, Mawlamyine (3.63)inches, Kalay (3.55)inches, Hpa-an (3.47) inches, Thandwe (3.43)inches, Mawlaik (3.38)inches and Khayan (3.23)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be  scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, (Eastern & Southern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady  and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and  along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
