24-2-2026 According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northweatwards and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely continue to move West-Northwest during next 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Eastern)Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Kayin States and widespread in Lower Sagaing Region, Southern Shan, Kayah and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and isolated heavy falls in Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Singu (4.68)inches, Belin (4.06)inches, Meiktila (3.54)inches, Pathein (2.60)inches, Yeu (2.24)inches, Ngathaichaung (1.89)inches, Hlaingbwe (1.69)inches, Madauk and Chaungsone (1.65)inches each and Kanbalu (1.50) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
