24-2-2026 According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northweatwards and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely continue to move West-Northwest during next 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hainggyigyun (4.06)inches, Thandwe (2.52)inches, Coco-Island (2.32)inches, Ann (2.01)inches, Shanywarthit (1.90)inches, Tada U (1.85) inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi and Launglon (1.81)inches each, Hpa-an (1.65)inches and Dawei (1.61)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and  Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State.
