SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw andKayahState. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin State, scattered in Magway Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin States and widespread inthe remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and KachinState. Day temperatureswere(3°C) to (4°C) aboveMay average temperatures in Magway Region and Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States and (6°C) below May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperaturesin the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were(42°C)in Chauk and(41°C) inGangaw.The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.59) inchesin Myittha, (3.86) inches in Myitkyina, (2.99) inches in Mogaung, (2.76) inches in Tada U(Aviation-Met), (2.68) inches in Belin, (2.25) inches in PaingKyone, (2.20) inches each in Putao and Paung, (2.16) inches in Yangon(Kaba-aye) and (2.09) inches in Myaungmya.

BAY INFERENCE:Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE18thMay, 2022:Rain or thundershowers will beisolated in Naypyitaw and KayahState,scattered in Magway Region and Southern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread inLowerSagaing, Mandalay Regions and Rakhine State, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kachin, Mon States.Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Sea will bemoderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
