SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain have been widespread in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Southern Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions and weather has been generally fair in Northern Shan and Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperature were (2°C) below January average temperature in Chin State and (9°C) above January average temperature in Kayah State, (8°C) above January average temperature in (Eastern and Southern) Shan State, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Kayin States and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Magway and Taninthayi Regions and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (5°C) each in Putao and Falam, (6°C) in Tiddim. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Coco- Island (0.55)inch, Kengtung (0.15)inch and Pinlaung (0.08)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th JANUARY, 2018: Rain will be fairly widespread in (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States.
