SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, rain have been isolated in Mon State, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay and Yangon Regions. Night temperatures were (6°C) above January average temperatures in Shan and Kayah States, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States, (2°C) above January average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (7°C) in Hakha, (8°C) each in Tiddim and Tongzan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Coco-Island (4.49)inches, Manaung (2.87)inches, Myinmu (2.56)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.44)inches, Magway (1.97)inches, Sittwe (1.70) inches, Pakokku (1.65)inches, Monywa (Kyemone) (1.61) inches, Ann (1.58)inches, Hlaingtat (1.57)inches, Heho and Minbu (1.54)inches each and Myauk U (1.50)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the West central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th JANUARY, 2018: Rain will be isolated in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions.
