SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region, rain have been isolated in Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (7°C) above January average temperature in Kayah State, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing, Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above January average temperature in Yangon Region and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (6°C) each in Mindat, Falam and Tiddim. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Yamethin (1.34)inches, Thandwe (1.30)inches, Taungdwingyi (1.10)inches, Pinlaung (0.98)inch, Taunggyi (0.91)inch and Heho (0.87)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th JANUARY, 2018: Rain will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
