BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining off West Bengal-Odisha coasts(India) still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards across North Odisha and South Jharkhand during next (24)hrs. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway,Taninthayi Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate Monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
