SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below January average temperature in Chin State, (2°C) below January average temperature in Kachin State and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Eastern Shan, Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah, Mon States, (6°C) above January average temperature in Naypyitaw and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Tiddim and (5°C) each in Putao, Kyaukmae, Mongyang and Pyinoolwin. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (0.28) inch each in Myawaddy, Thaton and Belin, (0.24) inch in Khayan, (0.16) inch in Phyarpon and (0.12) inch in Hpa-an(Agro-Met).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th January 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States. STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-6) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
