27-7-2024: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha, India has weaken into a Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and weaken gradually. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Bago Region and Southern Shan State and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon Reigons and Kachin, Chin States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 5°C to 6°C above May average temperatures in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State. The significant day temperatures were observed 44.4°C in Chauk, 43.9°C in Aunglan, 43.8°C in Minbu, 43.3°C in Magway, 42.0°C each in Myinmu and Pyay and 41.0°C each in Shwebo, Myingyan, Nyaung Oo, Pakokku, Taungdwingyi, Zaung Tu, Tharrawady and Zalun on 19-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.42 inches in Coco Island, 2.68 inches in Chaungsone, 1.69 inches in Taunggu, 1.23 inches in Paung, 0.99 inch in Taungdwingyi, 0.79 inch in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri), 0.75 inch in Taunggyi, 0.55 inch in Pinlaung, 0.51 inch in Belin and 0.47 inch in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri).

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon into the Southern Myanmar areas.
