15-10-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and reached over Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal during next (12) hrs and may reach to North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India around 17-10-2024 morning.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Mandalay Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.07 inches each in Kyaukpyu and Labutta, 2.99 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.60 inches in Pathein, 2.45 inches in Wakema, 2.43 inches in Ngapudaw, 2.32 inches in Kangyidaung, 2.25 inches in Phyarpon, 2.20 inches in Einme, 2.05 inches each in Phyu and Mawlamyinekyun and 2.00 inches in Gwa.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Mon States. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and  Kachin State.
