10-1-2026: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 855 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 270 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards, weaken into a Depression and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna. Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 7th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, scattered in Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and  Kachin State.
