15-10-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and reached over Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal during next (12) hrs and may reach to North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India around 17-10-2024 morning.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Kayah State, scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with Regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.53 inches in Kyaukpyu, 4.41 inches in Manaung, 3.39 inches in Ann, 2.83 inches in Gwa, 1.93 inches in Kungyangon, 1.89 inches in Mawlaik, 1.57 inches in Kyonpyaw, 1.54 inches in Sittwe and 1.46 inches each in Kamamaung and Ye.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
