SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been isolated in Naypyitaw and Rakhine State, scattered in Magway, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan, Kayin and Mon States, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Chin States and (2°C) below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Eastern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) in Bawlakhae, (40°C) in Tharrawady, (39°C)each in Myinmu and Aunglan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Yangon (North Dagon) (2.68)inches, Hpa-an (2.55)inches, Monywa (1.65)inches, Kamamaung (1.14)inches, Paing Kyone (1.04)inches, Thaton (1.02)inches, Pinlaebu (0.98)inch , Belin (0.94)inch, Kengtung and Kalewa (0.90) inch each, Yangon(Kaba-Aye) (0.87)inch, Taungoo (0.83)inch, Monyin and Mogoke (0.79)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 06th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan State and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of continuation of rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin State.
