SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Mon States, scattered in Magway Region, isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Rakhine States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperature in Kayah State, (2°C) above May average temperature in Bago Region, (5°C) below May average temperature in Upper Sagiang Region, (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Kachin and Chin States, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) each in Aunglan, Tharrawady and Bawlakhae, (40°C) each in Taunggu and Phyu. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyeikmayaw (1.54)inches, Tiddim and Paung (1.38)inches each, Saw (0.95)inch, Matupi (0.83)inch, Mudon (0.79)inch and Mawlamyine (0.59)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered in Taninthayi Region, Northern Shan, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
