27-11-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “SENYAR” crossed in the interior of Indonesia has recurved and moved South-Southeast and now lies again over Northeast of Indonesia and adjoining the Strait of Malacca. It is centered at about 360 Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 140 Nautical miles Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 50 Nautical miles Southeast of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  460 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India). According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Southeast Sri Lanka has further intensified into a Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Sri Lanka coast.  It is centered at about 800 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 180 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Tricomalee(Srilanka), 395 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(India). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy and over the over the Andaman Sea and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Eastern Shan, scattered in Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Southern) Shan and Mon States, isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Chin and Kayin States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (4°C) above May average temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Northern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C)above May average temperatures in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Eastern Shan and Rakhine States and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperature were (42°C) in Tharrawady, (41°C) in Chauk, (40°C) in Bago and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (1.29)inches, Kawthaung (1.17)inches, Katha (0.78)inch, Bago (0.66)inch, Nyaunglaybin and Kawkareik (0.51)inch each and Phyarpon (0.39)inch. 

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region.
