1-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts has moved Northwards weaken into a Deep Depression and it is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 40 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Channei. It is likely to move nearly Northwards parallel to North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts(India) and may weak into Depression during next 12 hrs. Weather is generally fair in the Andaman Sea, cloudy in Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 1st August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
