 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over South Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 750 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar) and 540 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Depression is coded as yellow stage.

 Forecast

 It is likely to move Northwestwards and may further intensify into a Deep Depression during next (24)hrs. Thereafter, It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days.
