SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan State, farily widespread in Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway Region and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions. Day temperatures were 3°C above May average temperature in Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperature in Rakhine State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Magway Region and Chin, (Northern and Southern)Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Yangon, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State, 7°C below May average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 38.9°C in Nyaunglaybin, 37.4°C in Minbu, 37.0 °C in Magway, 36.4°C in Aunglan, 36.0°C in Kawkareik, 35.8°C in Chauk, 35.7°C in Sinbyugyun, 35.5°C in Taungdwingyi and 35.3°C each in Taunggu(Avia-Met) and Hpa-an on 25-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.94 inches in Taunggu(Avia-Met), 3.11 inches in Hlegu, 2.68 inches each in Taunggu and Paung, 2.44 inches in Coco Island, 2.40 inches in Khayan, 2.36 inches in Chauk, 2.28 inches in Ela, 2.20 inches in Phaungbyin, 2.17 inches in Ywangan and 2.13 inches in Myingyan.

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experience off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavy rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
