SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread inTaninthayi Region and Rakhine State and islolated in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, Southern Shan States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.41 inches in Myeik, 0.98 inch in Labutta, 0.94 inch in Manaung, 0.38 inch in Khayan, 0.24 inch in Sittwe and 0.08 inch each in Minbu and Ngathaichaung.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and intensified into a Severe Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA”. It is centered at about 610 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 180 Nautical miles Northeast of Chennai(India) and 135 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely continue to move North-Northwestwards and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast, India, near Kakinada during next 18 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th October 2025:. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States and isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
