SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, light rain have been isolated in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C above January average temperatures in Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan State, 3°C above January average temperature in Naypyitaw and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 3.0°C in Hakha, 5.3°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 5.5°C each in Tiddim and Loilin, 5.7°C in Lashio, 6.0°C each in Hsipaw and Pinlaung, 6.5°C in Mongyang, 6.7°C in Heho, 6.8°C in Putao and 8.0°C each in Pyinoolwin and Monhyin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th January 2026: Light rain are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Shan States.
