SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Taungkok (5.94)inches, Kamamaung (4.48) inches, Hpa-an (4.41)inches, Thandwe (4.37)inches, Kataingti (4.25)inches, Shwegwun (3.16)inches, Kawkareik (2.48)inches, Khayan (2.24)inches and Naungcho (2.01)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. It is centered at about (66)miles East-Southeast of Balasore (India), (46)miles South-Southeast of Digha. It is forecast to move North-Northwest and cross North Odisha near Bulasore around evening of today. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd JULY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 - 14) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
