SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hinthada (3.30) inches, Hkamti (3.26)inches, Lashio (3.06)inches, Tamu (2.76)inches,  Paung (2.40)inches and Theinzayet (2.36)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 25th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy fall in Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
