22-5-2024:  According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu-South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India still persists. It is likely to move northeastwards and intensify into a Depression over Central Bay of Bengal around 24-5-2024. Thereafter, it may continue to move northeastwards, further intensify and reach Northeast and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal around 25-5-2024 evening. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Cyclonic Storm

 According to the observations at (15:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining the Equatorial Indian Ocean has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm "FANI" and centered at about (480) miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri-Lanka), (675)miles Southeast of Chennai (India) and (785)miles South-Southeast of Machilipatnam. It is forecast to move Northwestwards.
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm is coded yellow stage.

 Position of Cyclonic Storm, center pressure and wind

Cyclonic Storm "FANI" is located at Latitude (5.2) degree North and Longitude (88.5) degree East, centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (40)miles per hour at (15:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24)hrs forecast

It is forecast to further intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" during next (24)hrs.

Due to the Cyclonic Storm "FANI", people should be awared domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
