SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region, Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hainggyi Kyun (7.68)inches, Thaton (6.34)inches, Longlone (4.21)inches, Paung and Khayan (4.13)inches each, Mawlamyine (4.05)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.46)inches, Dawei (3.38)inches, Belin (3.27)inches, Labutta (3.23)inches, Hpa-an (Agro) (3.03) inches, Thabeikkyin (2.91)inches and Yangon (Northern Dagon) (2.87)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 9th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kachin, Chin and Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Bago and Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Kayin States.
