 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 13th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.
