SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershower have been isolated in Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan State and  widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mandalay (6.26)inches, Yay (5.40)inches, Labutta (3.50)inches, Patheingyi (3.26)inches, Dawei (3.18)inches, Manaung (3.03)inches, Kawkayeit (2.87)inches, Paung (2.36)inches, Pathein (2.32)inches, Launglone (2.20)inches and Sagaing ,Kyaukpyu and Thandaunggyi (2.09)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the North Bay and strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 15th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Napyitaw, Mandalay, Bago,  Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough sea will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
