27-10-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and still persists. It is centered at about 530 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 240 Nautical miles East of Chennai(India), 260 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm on 28-10-2025 and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night.Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in  Kachin and Eastern Shan States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Ayeyarwady Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago and  Yangon Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Kayin State and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawkayeit (3.07)inches, Myeik (2.95)inches, Central Yangon (2.79) inches, Hainggyikyun (2.28)inches, Belin (1.69)inches, Thandwe and Kawthong (1.65)inches each, Nyaunglaybin (1.49)inches and Shwegyin (1.30)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin and Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Yangon Regions, Shan (North and South), Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.  Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of withdrawal southwest monsoon from Deltaic areas.
