27-10-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and intensified into the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 485 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 310 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India), 350 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify Severe Cyclonic Storm may form on 28-10-2025 and may cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and North Bay, Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread  in Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, isolated in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Moemate (2.64)inches, Yangon(Mingaladon) (2.44)inches, Myeik (1.89)inches, Maungdaw (1.81) inches, Yangon (Kaba-Aye) (1.77)inches,  Launglone (1.69)inches,  Kungyangon (1.61) inches and Dawei (1.54)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be  widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of decrease of rain in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Rakhine State.
