27-10-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and still persists. It is centered at about 530 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 240 Nautical miles East of Chennai(India), 260 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm on 28-10-2025 and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night.Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather have been partly cloudy in Southern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Singu(Agro) (2.47)inches, Kanbalu (1.77)inches, Machanbaw and Labutta (1.46) inches each, Lashio (1.42)inches, Naungcho (1.14)inches, Coco-Island (1.10)inches and Hkamti (1.03)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th October, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Chin States, fairly widespread in  Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States.
