26-10-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 415 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 405 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India), 430 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify into a Cyclonic Storm may form over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours, Severe Cyclonic Storm may form on 28-10-2025 and may cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay, partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah and Kayin States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region. Night temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above November average temperatures in Southern Shan and Kayah States and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (11°C) in Hakha, (12°C) in Hkamti. The noteworthy amounts of rainfalls recorded were Coco-Island (3.89)inches, Kyobinkauk (0.79)inch, Taungdwingyi and Hinthada (0.71)inch each and Taunggyi (0.63)inch.

 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Weather is cloudy over the Southeast Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd November, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Southern) Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf off Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water.

 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Chin and Rakhine States.
