2-9-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely  to further intensify during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it  is likely  to move  west-northwestwards and cross Odisha, India, during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression

          According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over the West Central Bay and adjoining South Bay of Bengal has moved to Northwest wards. It is centered at about (215)miles Southeast of Vishakhapatnam (India), (360)miles South-Southwest of Paradip (India). It would be move initially Northwest wards during next (12)hrs and then recurve Northeast direction towards Bangladesh coast during next (48)hrs.

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

          Depression is located at Latitude (14.5) degree North and Longitude (85.0) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (30)miles per hour at (05:30) hrs MST today.

Next (24)hrs Forecast

    It is forecast to further intensify during next (24)hrs.

  General caution

        Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.  

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised to avert in condition of depression.
