2-9-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely  to further intensify during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it  is likely  to move  west-northwestwards and cross Odisha, India, during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 17th May, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw and Rakhine State, scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan and Chin States, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with moderate to rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h.  Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.
