8-1-2026 : According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and intensified into a Deep Depression. It is centered at about 715 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Coco- Island (Myanmar), 290 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 490 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may near Sri Lanka near during 36 hours. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the Central Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Kachin and Eastern Shan States, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin State and widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (North and South), Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thabeikkyin (3.39)inches, Tiddim (2.72) inches, Shwegyin (2.37)inches, Launglone (2.24)inches, Madauk (2.20)inches and Taungoo (Aviation) (2.05)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
