 25-7-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 18 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to cross Genetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand and adjoining North Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Shan(South and East), Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Kachin State and  isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Machanbaw (6.06)inches, Myitkyina (4.06)inches, Putao (2.72) inches, Central Yangon and North Dagon (2.32)inches each, Matupe (2.13)inches, Taungkok (1.97) inches, Gwa (1.81)inches, Hainggyikyun (1.77)inches, Paung  (1.69)inches, Taunggyi (1.58) inches and Nyaung Oo (1.54) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Kachin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 2nd September, 2017: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainly is (100%).
