(16-5-2026)According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal weaken into a Low preassure Area.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal, weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal ‌and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Depression

            According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal is centered at about (260)miles southeast of Puri (India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (17.4) degree North and Longitude (88.8) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour.

During next (12)hrs Forecast

            It is forecast to move Northwestwards and it may further intensify into a deep depression during next (12) hours.

General caution

 Occasional Squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9- 12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
