It is likely to move west–northwestwards towards Sri Lanka and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean during next 24 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

A Low Pressure Area may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Monsoon will be strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Southern Shan States and about normal in Mandalay, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern and Eastern Shan States.

Rainy days are expected about 7 to 9 days in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern and Southern Shan and about 4 to 6 days in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Eastern Shan States.
