Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”
According to the observations at (10:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North- Northwest wards. It is centered at about (360) Nautical miles West-Northwestof Coco Island, about (360) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Pathein (Myanmar), about (180) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Paradip, about (225) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Digha(India).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Severe Cyclonic Storm“YAAS” is coded yellow stage.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”is likely to move North-Northwestwards and forecast to intensify into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” during next (12)hrs. It is forecast to reach Northwest Bay of Bengal and will cross between North Odisha and West Bengal Coasts during next (48)hrs.

Due to the Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”,rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon and AyeyarwadyRegions, Rakhine States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and AyeyarwadyRegions, Rakhine State during next (48)hrs commencing today morning.
Occasional squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (13 -17)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (9-13)feet in Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
