Severe Cyclonic Storm
According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal centered at about (330) miles East-Northeast of Trincomalee (Sri-Lanka), (360)miles East-Southeast of Chennai (India) and (420)miles Southeast of Machilipatnam. It is forecast to move North- Northwestwards.
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Severe Cyclonic Storm is coded yellow stage.

It is forecast to further intensify into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" during next (12)hrs and Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" during next (36)hrs. It is forecast to move Northwestwards and then recurve North-Northeastwards towards ODISHA Coast during next (48)hours.

Under the influence of the Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI", rain will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Thaintharyi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States within next (72)hours commencing today morning.
Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
