26-5-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” over North Bay of Bengal has moved nearly Northwards and centered at about (175) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Maungdaw, (210) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, (250) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Kyaukpyu, (Myanmar), (110) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara, (130) Nautical miles South of Mongla, (Bangladesh), (100) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island, (120) Nautical miles Southeast of Digha and (120) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous over the Eastcentral Bay. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Severe Cyclonic Storm

          According to the observations at (03:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm is crossing West Bengal (India) and Bangladesh Coast between Sagar Islands and Khepupara. It is downgraded to Sever Cyclonic Strom and continuously move East- Northeastwards.

During next (6)hrs forecast

          The Severe Cyclonic Storm "BULBUL" is likely to weaken into a Cyclonic Storm during next (6)hrs. It is continue to  move East- Northeastwards and emerge into Bangladesh.

General caution

Due to the Severe Cyclonic Storm "BULBUL", rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Tanintharyi Region, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin and Rakhine States within next (48)hours commencing today morning.

          Frequent squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (55-60)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10-15) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts and (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

Advisory

          Strong wind, heavy rainfall and landslide may occur due to the influence of Severe Cyclonic Storm "BULBUL". People who are living near high land areas in Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States, beware of landslide event and trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Rakhine Coast are advised to avert possible condition.
